The decorative vase Lisa made of the thick branch of an old walnut tree which had to be cut out because of the disease. We always look for a sustainable sources of materials for our products by saving “unwanted” wood where others don’t see the potential anymore. The natural hollow inside of the branch allowed Mario to use Japanese charred wood finish for the inner part to let it create a chic contrast with the outside grain part. The shape of the vase follows the natural shape of the branch as it was grown. Natural oils and polishing were used to show and reveal the beauty of the walnut grain.
